All ministers in the Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan government submitted their resignation to the chief minister. They paved the way for the Cabinet rejig in the state. The resignation comes after a meeting of the Rajasthan council of ministers was held at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s residence. All the ministers will go to the state Congress headquarters where they will decide everything. The swearing-in of the new Cabinet is likely to take place in the evening. After the resignation of three Cabinet ministers, including Health minister Raghu Sharma, Revenue Minister Harish Choudhry, and Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara, at least nine to ten new entrants could be seen at the swearing-in ceremony. Some of these names include Hemaram Choudhry, Brijendra Ola, Murari Lal Meena, and Rajendra Guda.
Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has been demanding that those who toiled hard for the Congress when it was in the opposition should be made a part of the government and organizational structure. It is believed that after the final go-ahead given by the party high command. Rajasthan Congress in-charge Ajay Maken arrived in Jaipur to oversee the Cabinet reconstitution.
Ajay Maken held long discussions with CM Ashok Gehlot and the state Congress in charge Govind Singh Dotasara. The discussion took place about the possible new entrants in the Congress government in Rajasthan. Sachin Pilot and several of his loyalists were sidelined after the public tussle between Gehlot and Pilot last year. Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot, along with 18 other Rajasthan Congress MLAs, had turned rebel last year against the leadership of Ashok Gehlot. They had returned after Gandhi brought an apparent truce between the warring factions.
